Pro Baseball Sim is a single-player baseball career simulation. Your career is played and saved on your device. Some features — the optional player account (a made-up handle) and online leaderboard, and the ads that keep the game free — involve limited data, and this policy explains exactly what that data is, what it is used for, and what we never collect.
The short version: the game runs on your device. Every time you play, the app talks to Google: AdMob for ads and your ad choices, and Google Play to check whether you own Pro. If you join the online leaderboard, it also sends a random account ID, the made-up handle you choose, and your career score with a short stat line. The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or precise location. Most ads are optional reward ads you choose to watch, plus at most two short ad breaks per in-game season (none with Pro).
1. Data we collect — and data we never collect
| Data | Collected? | Why / notes |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous account identifier | Yes, if you join the online leaderboard | A random ID created for your device account. It contains no personal details and cannot identify you outside the game. |
| Player handle | Yes, if you set one | The made-up name (letters, digits, underscore) you choose. It is shown next to your score on the online leaderboard. Don't use your real name if you don't want it shown. |
| Career score & leaderboard stats | Yes, if you join the leaderboard | Your in-game career score and a short stat summary, shown on the global leaderboard next to your handle. |
| Device and ad data (Google AdMob) | Yes, for every player | Google AdMob receives your IP address (and from it an approximate location), your advertising ID and app set ID, and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Ads are personalised only with your consent (section 5). |
| Server request logs | Yes, when the app contacts our servers | Our hosting provider (Google Cloud) records the IP address, device type and time of each request, for security and abuse prevention. Kept for up to 30 days. |
| App installation ID | Yes, if you join the online leaderboard | Google's Firebase software creates an installation ID that is sent with online requests. It is not deleted when you delete your online account. |
| Cloud save data | No | The current version does not offer cloud save; your careers stay on your device. |
| Real name, email, phone number | No | Never asked for, never collected. |
| Precise location, contacts, photos, microphone | No | The app does not request these permissions. |
| Payment card details | No | Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play; we never see your payment details. |
2. Data stored locally on your device
Your game progress — careers, saved slots, settings, generated teams, players, seasons, and statistics — is stored in the app's private storage on your device. Careers play fully offline. Apart from the optional online features below, the app only talks to Google: AdMob for ads (section 5) and Google Play, which it asks whether your Google account owns Pro (section 6).
3. Accounts
The game does not use email/password sign-up. If you join the online leaderboard, the app creates an anonymous account (a random identifier) and associates your chosen handle with it. That is the entire "account": no personal details are asked for or stored.
4. The online leaderboard
Submitting to the global leaderboard is optional. If you join, the following is stored on our servers and visible to anyone who views the leaderboard: your handle, your best career score, a short stat line built from your career numbers (for example seasons played and home runs) and your random account ID. Scores are range-checked and rate-limited on our servers, and we may remove entries that break the rules.
5. Ads
Pro Baseball Sim uses light, player-initiated reward ads (watching an ad to refill your player's energy once a day, or for an extra spin of the hourly reward wheel) and at most two short automatic ad breaks per in-game season. Our advertising partner, Google AdMob, processes device information such as your IP address, advertising ID and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your choice first, before any ads load; if you do not consent, Google shows only non-personalised or limited ads. In US states with privacy laws you can opt out of personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time under Settings › Data & Privacy › Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. The one-time Pro unlock removes the automatic ad breaks; reward ads always stay your choice.
6. Purchases
The optional one-time "Pro" unlock (ten career slots, premium gear and no automatic ad breaks) is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment. The app receives only Google Play's signed confirmation of the purchase, which it checks on your device; we never see your payment details. If a purchase is refunded or cancelled, Pro is switched off the next time the app can reach Google Play.
7. Analytics
We have no analytics or usage tracking of our own. Google AdMob collects app interaction and diagnostic data to measure ads and prevent fraud (section 5). If we ever add basic crash reporting or analytics, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety form first.
8. How long we keep data, and how to delete it
- On your device: you are in control — clear the app's data or uninstall the app to permanently delete all local careers and settings.
- Leaderboard and account data: kept until you delete your online account. You can delete it in the app under Settings › Online account, or by emailing us your handle at the address above; email deletions are completed within 30 days. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage without deleting the account first, the app can no longer reach it.
- Server request logs: kept for up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
9. Children
Pro Baseball Sim is intended for players aged 13 and over. We never ask for real names or contact details; the only thing you type in is a made-up handle.
10. Sharing
We do not sell or rent any data. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the online features — our backend/hosting provider (Google Firebase, including App Check, which uses Google Play Integrity to check that online requests come from a genuine copy of the app), Google Play for purchases and, for ads, Google AdMob — each acting under their own binding privacy commitments. We disclose data beyond that only if the law requires it.
Where data is processed: the leaderboard database and our server functions are in the EU. Firebase Authentication runs in the United States. These transfers are covered by Google's data processing terms, which use the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.
11. Security
Online traffic uses HTTPS/TLS only. Server-side data is limited to the anonymous ID, handle, scores and short-lived request logs, stored with access controls. Leaderboard submissions are range-checked and rate-limited on our servers. The app requests no sensitive device permissions.
12. Your rights
Legal bases (GDPR Article 6): we use your leaderboard account to provide the feature you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b)). Personalised ads need your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it at any time under Settings › Data & Privacy › Ad privacy choices. Non-personalised ads, request logs and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in funding and protecting the game (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because the only server-side data we hold is your anonymous account, handle, scores and short-lived request logs, the practical way to exercise these rights is the in-app deletion option or an email to us. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority — in Norway, Datatilsynet.
13. Changes to this policy
When we add or change features that affect data (for example new online features, or changes to ads or purchases), we will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety information before release and update the effective date above.
